When outside the BIDMC firewall you will not be able to attach to the file shares, Outlook email, certain websites and your desktops. IS has created a safe and secure process to allow you to pass through the firewall in these conditions. The process is known as an SSLVPN. It is a web site here at BIDMC, that will load software onto your desktop or laptop computer and allow you different methods of accessing the resources mentioned above.
SSLVPN Web Site	Web link to the BIDMC SSL VPN login page. User your ITS login ID and password. Contact IS Support (617-754-8080 or isupport@bidmc.harvard.edu) for access assistance.
Instructions for PC/Mac users	Instructions for using SSLVPN to access resources at BIDMC. When you map and use file shares at BIDMC note that the documents will be downloaded locally to your machine and must be uploaded to return them to the central share! You can use Terminal Sessions to remotely connect to your BIDMC based desktop and access all resources as you would if you were here.
