Shipping Dangerous Goods (Infectious Substances, Biological Substances, Genetically Modified Organisms and Dry Ice) Training

Who should attend?

All BIDMC employees that package and ship dry ice, biological substances (formerly diagnostic specimens), genetically modified organisms and/or infectious substances (which require you to fill out a shipper’s declaration) are required to attend a shipping training session every two years to maintain certification.  Improper packaging of dangerous goods can lead to personal injury as well as fines levied by the United States Department of Transportation on both the individual and the institution.

If you would like to learn how to ship dry ice, biological substances, genetically modified organisms and/or infectious substances as part of your job, you MUST attend this training session.

To register, please e-mail Luisa Dello Iacono at ldelloia@bidmc.harvard.edu With the following information:  First and last name, Department/Research Lab, Location, Name of Principal Investigator and Telephone number
