Introduction
Chest pain is one of most common complaints of patients being seen in an emergency room.

About 5 million patients are seen each year with this symptom. Patients with life-threatening illness must be distinguished from those with less serious illness. For patients with coronary artery disease, especially those with acute myocardial infarction, timing is crucial. Time to treatment is critically linked to outcome.
