Goals of MNT
  1. Achieve and maintain glucose levels, lipids, and blood pressure within target ranges.
  2. Prevent and treat the chronic complications of diabetes (obesity, dyslipidemia, CVD, hypertension, nephropathy) by modifying nutrient intake and lifestyle.
  3. Improve health through healthy food choices and physical activity.
  4. Address individual nutrition needs taking into consideration personal and cultural preferences and lifestyle while considering the individuals wishes and willingness to change.
