Presenting Symptoms of Diabetes

Patients may be asymptomatic – discovered on routine examination/lab test.
Classic symptoms include:
- Polyuria and polydipsia
- Loss of weight
- Fatigue
- Blurred vision
- Recurrent vaginal infections or recurrent UTIs
- DKA or hyperosmolar state
Patients with type 1 diabetes usually present with classic symptoms which may culminate in the development of DKA.
