Introduction to Small-Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC)

This histologic subtype of lung cancer comprises about 20% of all lung cancers. Small-cell lung cancer differs in a number of ways from non small-cell lung cancer. It has neuroendocrine properties and a tendency to disseminate early and rapidly. Like non small-cell lung cancer, it is primarily smoking related.
