ARF Rodent Surgery Training Program

About the Rodent Surgery Video Training

* This video training is required by the Medical Center and Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW).  It must be completed by all personnel involved in survival rodent surgery.  It consists of instructional video training material followed by a multi-question exam.

To Complete Training and Exam

* Review materials by proceeding through the Video Training and support documents.

* Take the exam, after reviewing the materials.

Verify Completion (for managers) : A list of those who completed the web exam can be seen at: Web Quiz Certified page. A list of those that have seen the Video Training can be found at: Web Train Complete page. 

Please follow these steps to ensure viewing of Rodent Surgery Video:

PC Users: Test your access to this video application and presence of a QuickTime Player (required)

Test #1: Finding the Research file share

     Open Windows Explorer & check that you have an R: drive. You should be able to see the Rodent Surgery folder under the R: drive

     No R: Drive? Follow the Drive Mapping Directions to set up this connection

Do you see the R: drive?  go to Test #2.

If no: you must map to the R: drive to complete training.  Problems contact IS Support at 617-754-8080 or email research@bidmc.harvard.edu

Test #2: Do I have access to Rodent Surgery Video folder

     Open the ReadMe.txt file to test your access to the R:\Rodent Surgery  folder. 

If you can read the text file: go to Test #3

If you can not read the file: contact IS Support at 617-754-8080 or email research@bidmc.harvard.edu

Test #3: Do I have QuickTime Installed

     Click here to test if QuickTime is properly installed.  If you see the blue QuickTime logo, QuickTime is installed. If not, please click QuickTime Installer

If you have passed all three test should should be able to run the Training application from the link below.

Authentication:  (PLEASE READ!) When you click on a links below, you will see a pop up window with a User Name and password box. The response to User Name is the username portion of your email address (before the @sign), and Password is your email password
