SUBJECT: Principal Investigator's Continuing Educational Program for the Administration
of Research
As part of our being a center of excellence and our commitment to abiding by the laws and regulations that govern federally funded research, the Medical
Center is committed to the education and training of our faculty in their responsibilities as stewards of federal funds.
In 2001, we made better use of our technology by allowing all Principal Investigators to complete a web based Grants Management Exam very similar to our
current IRB regulations exam. In 2006, we updated this exam which is composed of fifty-three questions that relate to the day-to-day management activities of funded grants that Principal Investigators are expected to know. Any individual
who is a Principal Investigator of a sponsored research grant is required to complete this new exam if they have not taken the previous version within the last three years. We are very grateful to all for your cooperation and commitment to an
effective research compliance program at the Medical Center.
