Major Research Theme
My research program is concerned with mechanisms that regulate barrier function in the stomach, with special emphasis on restitution after injury, maintenance of tight junction integrity, and pathways that regulate cell survival and death during Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection.  We also have a long-standing interest in the cytoskeletal regulation of gastric acid secretion.
