Major Research Theme
Research in the laboratory focuses on the molecular mechnisms of liver development and regeneration in mice.  There are three major projects in the lab.  1)  Tracing the lineage of cells that reconstitute the regenerating liver 2) Discovering molecules that play a direct role in the regenerative response of the liver  3)  Determining molecules critical for liver development.  We use a variety of tradiational and conditional knockout strategies, as well as genomics, real-time PCR, in situ hybridization, and viral infection of the liver to accomplish these goals.
