Major Research Theme
1. Pathobiology of organ fibrosis, especially liver fibrosis; development of novel diagnostic tools and antifibrotic therapies.
2. Pathobiology of intestinal and colonic inflammation; development of novel diagnostic tools and therapies, with particular emphasis on IBD and celiac sprue.
3. Design and validation of anti-cancer therapies using combinations of biological modulators, such as anti-angiogenic agents, (EGF-receptor) kinase inhibitors, histone deacetylase inhibitors, retinoids, anti-estrogens with TGF-beta activity, vitamin D analogues, and others; immune therapies for solid cancers.
