1 Cancer
Major Research Theme
My focus is basic and translational research in human cancers such as lung cancer and leukemia. Currently, our research concentrates on: 1) studying the mechanisms of resistance caused by EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors; 2) studying the bcl-2 family proteins which are responsible for tyrosine kinase inhibitor-induced apoptosis; 3) screening and pharmacogenomic studies of compounds which induce cell differentiation of lung cancer cells. These studies will lead to new insights into mutant EGFR-driven tumorgenesis, as well as the identification of novel target pathways for therapeutic intervention in the future.
