Major Research Theme
My research interests include dementia, delirium, neuropharmacology, and functional imaging. My current research efforts are focused on studying the utility of combined pharmacologic manipulation and arterial spin-labeled perfusion MRI (ASL-pMRI) as an in vivo probe of cholinergic function. Ultimately, it is hoped that these techniques can be used to study the cholinergic system in vivo in normal aging, and in age-related disease states such as dementia and delirium, to further understand the cholinergic pathophysiology of these conditions, and to assist in development of more effective treatment strategies. |
