Major Research Theme:
We have a multi-discipline translational group focused on prostate cancer. Dr. Balk is responsible for the basic research portion of our group activities and I am responsible for the clinical research activities. However, Dr. Balk has clinical interests and I have basic research interests. I am approximately 70% clinically based with approximately 200 outpt visits per month. Included in our clinical group are Stephen Duggan, Mary Ellen Morrissey, Kristen Rada, Cesar Vazquez and Steven Balk, Rupal Bhatt, and Marc Garnick. My interst is in newer targeted therapy for prostate cancer including targeting the PI3K/mTOR pathway for treatment of refractory prostate cancer.
