Melanocortin 4 receptor knockout mice (loxTB-MC4R mice) (BIDMC 1316)

Abstract:

The endogenous gene melanocortin 4 receptor is transcriptionally blocked by loxp sites. Expression of melanocortin 4 receptor can be restored by breeding this strain with cre-recombinase expressed in the hypothalamus.
