The focus of my research is to identify factors associated with disease progression in patients with liver disease, cirrhosis, liver failure and recurrent disease after liver transplantation. In addition, I have investigator intiated clinical trials to study the effectiveness of non-invasive assessments of liver fibrosis in liver transplant recipients, renal transplant candidates with HCV infection; a study to look at high dose prograf for treatment of allograft rejection; a study to assess the usefullness of liver volume in predicting outcome of patients with cirrhosis; and a study to look at the effectiveness of rapamycin in preserving renal function in liver transplant recipients.
