Major Research Theme
|
Dr. Spencer’s laboratory is interested in understanding the immunobiology of eosinophils, primarily with respect to the capacities of eosinophils to modulate immune responses at mucosal surfaces, and to promote tissue fibrosis in multiple organs. Toward this end, the major ongoing projects are to investigate: 1) functional significances of Notch signaling to eosinophil activities; 2) immunoregulatory functions of eosinophils in allergic respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases; and 3) the pathogenesis of eosinophilic myocardial fibrosis. |
