characterise HIV and human Cytomegalovirus genes which cause resistance to antiviral drugs Conduct clinical tlrials of antiviral drugs or therapeutic vaccines against HIV- Study pathogenesis of HIV and HCMV in human disease and the role of HCMV in cardiiovascular disease Develop assays to measure viral burden in human tissues and determine antiviral susceptlibillity. Study the role of HCMV in inducing vascular injury and in inducing human gene expression which contributes to vascular injury Study the role of MCMV in a murine model of hypertensilon |
