Major Research Theme
| It is not individual genes, but rather biological pathway signaling through interacting networks of genes that drive disease and response to the environment. My group builds interaction maps of genes and pathways. We define modules and changes in these maps using genomic variants, functional 'omics assays and correlated phenotypes to deliver causal mechanisms that can be actioned by drug interventions. In turn we build connection maps between drug responses and pathways - performing quantitative systems pharmacology in silico to prioritize drugs and their targets. We are integrating noncoding RNA maps into these functional interactions to yield an RNA systems medicine approach to drug development. |
