Major Research Theme
My work has focused on hospital-acquired infections and the ways in which they are related to clinical practices.  These include hand hygiene performance and central line-associated bloodstream infections, as well as antibiotic management,   I am also interested in the prevention of infections among staff, such as influenza.  More recently, I have been studying the resources required to perform effective infection control work.

“Skin Carriage of Antibiotic Resistant Staph in the Community (SCARF)” in collaboration with Fenway Community Health Center.
Clearly defining direct patient care health care providers enables uniform data collection on rates of influenza vaccination within health care institutions, in collaboration with Influenza Vaccination Work Group at BIDMC.
